Shoe Sale Stalemate

Shopping update from New York: summer sales have started!  Although it’s only the first mark-down of the season, most of the shoes at Barneys, Saks, Bergdorf, etc. are marked down 30-40%.  The good news is that I haven’t spent a fortune.  The bad news is that I haven’t spent a fortune because I’ve hardly found anything to buy.  Here is a sad journal of my trip through Barneys shoe department, a stop at Zara, and later, through the Century 21 shoe department.

Barneys’ sale racks: this is the style that I’m going for – strappy, gladiator-type sandals.

Ann Demeulemeester: Too high an incline and too many straps on my legs.

Givenchy: I love the straps, but again, the heel is too high.

Not sure who designed these: I love the fuchsia and the stacked heel, but it’s STILL too high.

At Zara: very cute (and well-priced) wedge sandals. Again, too high for me.

Chloé shoes

Chloé blue leather wedges: the height is right, but they don’t have my size.

grey Chloé wedges

Chloé grey patent wedges: not my favorite color, but these could work.

Modeling the grey pair: the perfect heel for me!  Sadly, they only have one pair, which are a half-size too big.

Don’t cry for me just yet: I did manage to find a Carven cotton dress (on sale!) that fits like a dream : )

Have a great weekend!

À lundi,

k.
