It has been some time since I last wrote. So long that I had to reset my password to log into my blog. Yikes.
Saying that I’ve been busy these last couple of months is a bit of an understatement. My husband, 1-year-old daughter, two cats and I moved from Hamburg, Germany to the Los Angeles area at the end of April and there have been a lot of ups-and-downs. And it was/is a lot of work. Way more work than I thought. Waaaay more. I’ve moved many times before, but this one has been a whopper. I didn’t think we had accumulated that much stuff in the last two years, but apparently we have. It’s surprising because we moved all of our stuff out of an apartment that was less than half the size of the house we just moved into! I guess it’s a matter of finding a place for everything. But sheesh, it looks terrible right now. Sigh.
One of the things I can’t complain about is the weather. SoCal is sunny, sunny, sunny. And HOT. Quite a change from Hamburg. Although, for the record, our two summers in Hamburg were sunny, warm and gorgeous. It was just the other ten months of the year that were crappy.
I’ve gotta keep this post short so that I can get back to unpacking, but here’s the new backyard…
I know. I’m sure your heart aches for me. I’m enjoying it here. But I do miss our life in Europe and scenes like this from Hamburg before we left…
Missing life the way it was. I could write a book about it. People have. But I’ll get into that another time.
For now, thanks for reading and following me wherever life takes me.
